A demo at the 2017 HPBZWhat It's About:

As HERS (Home Energy Rating System) scores become more and more important to homeowners and savvy home buyers, insulation installers have to understand that their work is being inspected and graded as part of the rating process. In this demo, you’ll learn how to achieve a top score using a variety of different insulations.

What You’ll See and Learn:

Attendees examine the frame built at the 2017 HPBZ

  • Achieve a top HERS score
  • Air seal first, then insulate
  • Importance of manufacturer’s instructions
  • How to fill cavities, eliminate gaps and avoid compression
  • Installation of fiberglass, mineral wool and BIBS (blown-in blanket system)
  • Detail carefully around wires, pipes and ducts
