Christy Kwan is the policy advisor, livable communities at the AARP Public Policy Institute where she works on transportation, housing, and other livable community issues. She conducts policy analysis and develops resources for policymakers, community members and other stakeholders related to community livability. She also supports the AARP Livability Index platform, which measures livability across a range of indicators for communities throughout the United States. Before joining AARP, Kwan worked collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in the areas of intercity passenger rail, active transportation, land conservation, and healthy food access. She holds a graduate degree in city and regional planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in sociology and gender studies from the University of California San Diego.
