What It's About:
Where will the economy go in 2018? This advanced session will focus on the state of the nation's economy and its impact on housing. As the housing market continues its upward trajectory, shortages of labor and lots—along with increasing mortgage rates and building material prices—will present both challenges and opportunities in the next few years. Nationally-recognized economists will discuss the outlook for employment, housing prices and starts (for single-family and multifamily) and remodeling. An analysis of the strength of the housing sector will be provided, incorporating findings from NAHB's recent surveys and models, along with the credit markets and their impact on builders and buyers—revealing market strengths by region.
