SNAPSHOT Q&A
WHAT’S THE MOST INSPIRING PART OF YOUR JOB?
The most inspiring part of my job is being part of a team that brings a home to life. It takes a village to build just one house from every material selected in design, every cost estimated, to every trade that exchanges hands on the house to the township that reviews the plans. Being able to contribute to that process inspires me that if we can build houses in that manner, we can solve any housing issues we face today across the entire country.
WHAT's YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO ENGAGE WITH YOUR LOCAL HBA/BIA COMMUNITY?
My favorite way to engage with my local HBA community is through volunteering with habitat for humanity. Being in the office, there is a side to building I don’t get to see often, and I think it provides a great education for me so I can help the team better when I go back to Rouse Chamberlin. Most of all, it feels amazing knowing I can help my local community and give back to those who will appreciate it the most.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?
I absolutely love to connect with other’s through music. I spend a lot of time playing cello in quartets or at wedding gigs but most of all I love to reconnect with my childhood teachers as an adult and continue to play alongside them. They’ve taught me so much more than just music, so it feels like home spending a weekend afternoon running through a couple duets or holiday pieces.
FAVORITE SHOW OR MOVIE?
My favorite movie has to be Pixar’s Soul. As someone who grew up so intertwined with music, it beautifully explores the concept of purpose, showing that life isn’t about chasing a single goal or achievement, but about appreciating the everyday moments and simple joys there are to life. The main character’s journey reminds us that our worth isn’t defined by our job or talents, but by how we live and connect with the world around us. There is so much joy in life if we take the time to slow down and look around us to appreciate it all.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED TO EXPERIENCE OR TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WHILE AT IBS?
Something I’m most excited about taking advantage of is the educational opportunity through the expo pass. As someone who originally went to school for teaching, I firmly believe that education pays the best interest whether its listening to wisdom from a speaker or even just meeting someone new and hearing their story as to what drives them within the industry. Anything I can do, I want to take in, absorb and take that back to my team.

SNAPSHOT Q&A
WHAT’S THE MOST INSPIRING PART OF YOUR JOB?
I’m fortunate to work for a company that works with a variety of clients. We don’t focus on only the portfolio projects but find the most fulfillment from the ones that make the biggest impact for our clients. We are also a fixed-cost builder which I hadn’t ever worked with before. Through a bad job experience with a cost-plus builder, I was fortunate enough to find employment at my current company. I align with the open and honest relationships a fixed-cost contract promotes. We do what we say we’re going to do, for the price we say we’re going to do it for and I find that very inspiring.
WHAT's YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO ENGAGE WITH YOUR LOCAL HBA/BIA COMMUNITY?
My local HBA hosts a ton of networking events which I always try to go to. I really enjoy meeting new people in the industry and learning more about what they do. You never know what you’re going to learn or the connections you’re going to make.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?
I am a big reader and I am currently working on writing my own book. I’m mainly doing that for fun and while one day becoming published would be incredible, I’m focusing on the decompression writing brings me after a stressful day. I also have two amazing dogs that I love training and taking places. They are both my service dogs so they go everywhere with me and it’s fun to train them in new environments. When I’m not doing either of those things, my husband and I play video games and even had a setup once with two TVs so we could play our respective games together. One day that dream will be relived, but for now I primarily play the Switch and he plays the PS5.
FAVORITE SHOW OR MOVIE?
I love Disney movies and right now my favorite is Tangled. I think I’ve watched it every weekend for the past month. Me and my coworker will quote it at work too which brings me so much joy! I grew up watching movies like Tarzan and The Little Mermaid so any movie in that realm quickly becomes my obsession.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED TO EXPERIENCE OR TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WHILE AT IBS?
I’m really excited about all the learning opportunities at IBS. I have attended the furniture markets over the past few years and while that’s great, I’m looking forward to learning more about the construction industry. I love working at a Design-Build company and as the Lead Architectural Designer, I want to bolster my knowledge base and be a more reliable resource to my clients and team.

SNAPSHOT Q&A
WHAT’S THE MOST INSPIRING PART OF YOUR JOB?
For me, the most inspiring aspect of my job lies in the challenges we encounter throughout the construction process. I thrive on problem-solving and find great satisfaction in navigating obstacles that arise. The collaborative energy generated during team discussions is particularly invigorating; I love how ideas build upon one another, sparking creativity and innovation. This dynamic exchange of thoughts and perspectives not only enhances project outcomes but also fuels my passion for the industry.
I truly believe that the synergy of teamwork is essential in transforming challenges into opportunities, ultimately leading to successful results and stronger relationships within our team.
Additionally, being involved in the safety measures within our company is incredibly inspiring. In the business of building relationships, I care deeply for those around me—both my team members and those in the field. I am driven to keep everyone safe, both mentally and physically, and I take pride in fostering an environment where safety is a shared value. This commitment to well-being further motivates me to contribute positively to our projects and the community we serve.
WHAT's YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO ENGAGE WITH YOUR LOCAL HBA/BIA COMMUNITY?
I absolutely love participating in council events, especially those with the Professional Women in Building Council. Watching women thrive in a traditionally male-dominated industry is incredibly inspiring, and I find it empowering to learn from and engage with what other women are doing outside of my custom-home-building bubble.
Volunteering at Rampathon is another favorite way for me to connect with the community. It’s a wonderful opportunity to give back to those in our surrounding areas and underscores the relationship aspect of our work. We often operate in affluent neighborhoods, so it’s refreshing and fulfilling to step outside our usual environment and make a meaningful, life-changing impact for someone who otherwise may not have access. Engaging in these activities not only enriches my personal experience but also strengthens our collective commitment to building a better community.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and exploring new places, always seeking out fresh experiences and cultures. I also love hosting friends and family, as it gives me the chance to connect with the people I care about most. Cooking is one of my passions, and I delight in experimenting with new recipes to create memorable meals for my gatherings. My enthusiasm for connecting with others and embracing new ideas not only enriches my personal life but also continues to fuel my love for both the creative and operational sides of the construction and design industry. Whether it's trying out a new dish or planning an adventure, I find joy in every opportunity to learn and grow.
FAVORITE SHOW OR MOVIE?
I enjoy watching anything true crime, with Law & Order: SVU and Criminal Minds currently at the top of my rotation. However, I’ve also been making a conscious effort to spend more time reading books! I recently started a book club, and I’ve been enjoying exploring recommendations that I wouldn’t typically choose for myself. It’s been a great way to discover new genres and engage in thoughtful discussions with others who share my passion for storytelling.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED TO EXPERIENCE OR TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WHILE AT IBS?
I’m really looking forward to the chance to step outside of my usual bubble. Working in the same market day in and day out can sometimes make it feel like you’re in a creative loop. Events like IBS are a breath of fresh air because they expose you to new trends, innovative ideas, and fresh perspectives that you wouldn’t normally encounter. It’s such a rejuvenating experience to see what others are doing across the country and internationally. I’m excited to connect with other professionals, gather new inspiration, and bring those ideas back to our projects and processes. Plus, there’s always something really rewarding about networking in person and building relationships with industry leaders!

SNAPSHOT Q&A
WHAT’S THE MOST INSPIRING PART OF YOUR JOB?
This is such a rich question, and I could talk about it for hours! Being involved from start to finish, I typically spend about 4 to 9 months with each homeowner, depending on the project's size. It’s a collaborative journey where we work together to create their dream space. Witnessing their excitement as we bring their visions to life is incredibly rewarding. At some point during the project, these people become not only clients, but friends.
I also thrive on the business aspect; networking with other builders and trade partners not only expands my knowledge but also fuels my growth every day. It’s a fulfilling blend of creativity and collaboration!
WHAT's YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO ENGAGE WITH YOUR LOCAL HBA/BIA COMMUNITY?
I find great fulfillment in actively participating in committees within my local MBA (MBA Pierce County). I love not only attending events but also being involved in their planning and organization. Volunteers play a crucial role, and I believe that making a meaningful impact requires us to lend our voices and contribute our efforts. It’s rewarding to be part of a team that drives positive change!
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?
When I'm not working, I cherish spending time with my husband and kids. We love the thrill of riding on two wheels, whether it’s on our dirt bikes or Harleys (and yes, I have my own – an HD Ultra Classic).
Camping, swimming, and park outings are some great family activities that frequent our life. Baseball holds a special place in my heart, especially with my 14-year-old son. I'm on the board of his Little League, and he plays travel ball, so we invest a lot of time in that passion. I’m also a big fan of football.
Between work and family commitments, let’s just say there’s not much room for sleep!
FAVORITE SHOW OR MOVIE?
I’m not the best at sitting still, so I often struggle to watch an entire movie! However, when I do, I’m drawn to action-packed films or documentaries. For TV shows, I gravitate towards true crime or stories based on real events. While I don’t have a single favorite, those genres always capture my interest!
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED TO EXPERIENCE OR TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WHILE AT IBS?
I’m really looking forward to the educational experiences at IBS! I plan to explore a wide range of classes, from sales and project management to design. After six years in this industry, I’ve learned so much, but there’s always more to absorb, and I’m eager to expand my knowledge further. I’m also excited about the networking opportunities; some of the best insights come from connecting with others who have faced similar challenges.
