A demo at the 2017 HPBZWhat It's About:

Building codes are ramping up pressure to get all ducts into conditioned space since typical houses lose 25-40% of their energy through leaky ductwork in unconditioned space. In this demo, you’ll see four cost-effective options for doing so. The payoff is lower HERS scores, lower energy bills, better air quality and more comfortable clients, all at lower costs.

What You’ll See and Learn:

Attendees examine the frame built at the 2017 HPBZ

  • Using floor joist systems to optimize duct layouts
  • Dropped ceilings or raised attic trusses
  • Advantages of raised-heel truss and burying ducts in the insulation
  • Condition the entire attic
  • Seal ducts properly
