John Barrows has provided general contracting, construction management, and consultation services that include historic renovation, remodeling, and new construction on the East End of Long Island, Nantucket, Hilton Head, SC, and the Adirondacks of upstate New York. Their projects have incorporated sustainable and high-performance practices that include the careful selection of sustainable materials, energy efficient envelope systems, passive solar design, and alternative energy production. John is also a founding partner of Performance Path Solutions, LLC, a company that brings innovative building practices to the building industry through educational programs, innovative products, and provides green and energy conservation consulting services. Performance Path Solutions focuses on providing new building systems, both construction and operational, that will prepare individuals and companies for the rapidly changing building industry. John is a nationally recognized author and speaker on topics including Green and Sustainable Building, construction and production management. In addition to presenting his own programs, he has worked with the NAHB to develop and teach courses on Scheduling, Green Building, Green Building Project Management, Building Science, and Estimating. John serves on the Leadership Council of the NAHB and has served as chair of the Business Management, the Education, and the Sustainable and Green Building Committees along with several Task Groups.
