Peter Pfeiffer, FAIA is a renowned architect, building scientist, and sustainability pioneer with over four decades of experience. He is the founding Principal of Barley | Pfeiffer Architecture, nationally recognized for its innovative climate-responsive designs. Peter is among the earliest and few to be honored as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects for his life-long achievements developing elegant yet attainable high-performance green design & building strategies. A passionate advocate for green building, Pfeiffer has shaped industry standards through leadership roles in government, professional organizations, and academia. He was instrumental in the creation of Energy Star and then the nation’s first Green Building program.
