Barley | Pfeiffer Architecture Austin, Texas
Having a lifelong passion for tinkering and design, Oren Mitzner, AIA naturally found his way into architecture. While earning his Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees from Tulane University, he channeled that passion into design/build projects where good design and deep analysis of programming could make the biggest difference in their everyday operation. This was critical for non-profit organizations he worked with through Tulane UrbanBUILD and the Alfred and Tina Small Center for Collaborative Design. In practice, he has managed projects primarily in New Orleans and Austin, ranging from small park memorial sidewalks to large scale residential and commercial buildings. He has extensive experience in residential and missing middle development, retail, and hospitality. Oren is a Principal of Barley|Pfeiffer Architecture, a member of the American Institute of Architects, holds a National Council of Architectural Registration Boards certificate and is a licensed Architect in the state of Texas. Although not an Austin native, Oren has adapted to the city he calls home by quickly learning it’s unique ins and outs and becoming involved with the community. He works with multiple organizations focusing on youth and professional development, as a volunteer and in leadership capacities. He has served as Chair of Residential Advocacy for AIA Austin and sits on the Austin’s Building and Fire Code Board of Appeals.
