What It's About:
For many builders, the most challenging part of the project has nothing to do with construction: it is dealing with the emotional homeowner and conflicts that arise among the project team. In this session, the ”Zen Builder” will share his nearly 30 years of wisdom gained from working with a wide range of homeowners on a variety of residential construction projects. Learn how to identify difficult clients and effective methods for working with the emotional homeowner. Explore new communication skills utilizing today’s technology and ways to help couples stay on the same page during the construction process. Finally, you'll discover the keys to building trust among the construction team and working with a collaborative, rather than a combative, approach to project management.
What You'll Learn:
Learn best practices for effective communication with your clients using today's technology, including e-mails, text messages and cloud-based project management systems.
Determine if a client is going to be difficult by asking one question, and learn methods for working with the emotional homeowner.
Acquire ways to build a strong level of trust between all members of your team by following four principles.
Discover approaches to working with married couples to keep them on the same page and reduce the marital strife that is often associated with a home improvement project.
