What It's About:

Modern building codes provide a strong foundation for building homes to resist hurricanes, floods and other natural hazards. Yet, many builders are finding a niche by voluntarily implementing practices to construct even more resilient homes. Through a series of case studies, this builder panel will share their stories and successes on making this additional resiliency part of their homes and business plans. Learn how they got started and get tips to use for your business.

What You'll Learn:

  • Establish how to assess hazard risks and identify opportunities to reduce exposure.
  • Explore how to incorporate resilient construction practices and techniques into all of the homes you build.
  • Discover existing programs and opportunities that recognize the value of more resilient building.
  • Review a local program that pairs credible builders and trade professionals with homeowners in need of services, while offering funding solutions and third-party quality assurance.
