What It's About:
Housing markets are getting better in many areas, but if the downturn taught us anything, it's that we need to do more with less. Building lean involves maximizing value by building what the market is willing to pay for, while at the same time eliminating wastefulness. And it's not that difficult when you consider that nearly half the steps a typical builder takes are unnecessary at best and detrimental at worst. In this advanced session, you’ll identify the eight wasteful areas that could be impacting your operations and how to fix them. You’ll further explore lessons learned from builders who have successfully been through this process. Whether you want to grow, become more profitable, or just have fewer hassles day-to-day, this session is the place to start.
What You'll Learn:
Learn the eight primary waste practices impacting every home building operation and how to eliminate them.
Explore the performance standards used by lean home building operations, and learn the metrics that any company can aspire to, anywhere in the USA.
Understand how value engineering can deliver an equal or superior product in less time and at lower cost.
Learn the concepts of continuous improvement and how to eliminate any non-value adding process over time, prioritizing which departments to tackle first.
How to Attend:
Participants must be registered for a full registration package or a 1-day education with expo pass package valid for the day of the session they wish to attend. Seating for Spotlight sessions will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
